To those that know me, this cause is near and dear to my heart. A few years ago, I felt the need to get involved with this organization because I understood, first hand, the struggle and pain placed on the patients and the families of those diagnosed.
As the 2020 Treasurer for the ALSANV, I can also see the financial burden it places on those same people. I can also see how financial assistance directly benefits this cause.
Humbly, I now ask you to assist me in lightening that burden and easing some of the pressure that those diagnosed with ALS and their families endure every day in my community. Please donate what you can and trust me when I say, your contribution matters. I have seen it.
For those that don't know:
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
That’s why we’re participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS. To bring hope. To raise awareness. To provide resources and services to families free of charge. To help unlock the mystery of ALS and find the key to treatments a cure. Will you join us?
